So the new album from YACHT (See Mystery Lights) came out a couple weeks back & I'm just now sitting down with it. I love it! We last saw Jona Bechtolt on 2007's I Believe In You, Your Magic Is Real, than a one man project, now a duo with band mate Claire L. Evans. Also Jona's made the jump over to DFA, home of LCD Soundsystem and boss man James Murphy. Apparently YACHT wrote the track Summer Song in honor of LCD Soundsytem. Murphy ended up releasing the track on DFA & the tune ended up making it on the album. Claire has got some sweet ass dance moves & makes the video quite an enjoyable messy peanut butter & jelly sandmich type boogie down. I'm happy to see YACHT back with the usual catchy hooks & dance party action. Seems like the addition of a concentrated band mate has given the album a bit more direction & has resulted in some really nice lil nuggets of pop goodness.

I'm gonna have to start rocking the white blazer/red tank top look from now on like homebody in the video. Also, the video is totally referencing a movie called Tapeheads, which made it cool before the cool music even started.
