New MiX - Welcome To The World of Stevie Buckets

As the title might suggest, this is my flavor.  I mean when I'm rumbling around in my apartment 90% of the time I'm listening to some old comedy record or maybe an old blues album, sometimes jazz, sometimes country, and sometimes some old pop records.  Rarely do I bump the latest dub step 12" or the latest Flying Lotus shit.  Mostly is crinkly old fart music.  Record geek shit, & I don't mean jazz collectors or beat hunters.  Those dudes are fairly hip & usually hold down some cool residency and sport designer jeans with trainers & talk about samples all day & bore there girl friends to death.

This is really a peek inside my mind & the shit that I hum to all day long.  Mixtapes are never easy for me.  Most people think that you can just bust one out like nothing, maybe most dj's can, but for me it's serious buisness & rarely do I get them one.  To me giving someone a  mix is a pretty personal thing.  Unless you're a good friend or maybe a love interest chances are I ain't giving you shit!  It's kinda weird in a way but I think the easiest way for people to get to know me is through listening to my show or music/mixtapes.

I mean crap if you like Bob Wills, Her Space Holiday, Bent Fabric & Bone Thugs N Harmony chances are we are gonna hit it off!  Like "hey do you wanna go grab some milk shakes?"

I'm pretty sick now & today I just wanted to hear stuff that would make me feel better.  Some of these are pretty obvious choices, others not so much & some maybe will have you scratching your head.  En Fin, things finish off with a massive 11 minute song from Artie Kaplan.  When I found this record in Vegas I completely lost my shit!  Honestly I said the words "holy fuck" out loud & the dude at the register just laughed & said that record wouldn't be half off.  "Confessions of a Male Chauvinist Pig" was filed in the comedy section, woops there bad!  Although with a title like that who could blame them.  Anyhow the title was the subject of much controversy & despite your gut reaction it was meant more as a commentary than as a dis to all females.  Some other fave's come from Charlie Christian, Paul Simon, Bob Wills, Jermaine Jackson & Mel Brooks.  Well they all are pretty much faves.  Happy listening, -the city  (run time 52 minutes)
